Building of the Ministry of Finance was built in 1889 according to the plans of the architect Dušan Živanovic and for the needs of the State Council and Chief Control of the Kingdom of Serbia. One-storey building was added to it in 1920 according to the same project, while in 1959 the third storey was added as planned by the Russian architect Nikolai Krasnov. Throughout the history the building changed its purpose several times.
Repairs and restoration-conservation works were done in June-July 2005:
- Dismantling - breaking ruined granite staircase at the main entrance;
- Dismantling - breaking ruined granite from the hall;
- Placing new granite slabs in the hall;
- Making concrete foundation for the staircase and placing new staircase of granite massif;
- Protection - conservation of staircase at the main entrance with the products ECO IMPREGNIR K and
ECO IMPREGNIR MK; - Conservation of stone in the hall with the product ECO IMPREGNIR MK;
- Cleaning and washing granite staircase at the side entrance with detergents ECO RECEPT 01, ECO RECEPT 02 and water under pressure of 120bar;
- Consolidation of stone with the product ECO CONSOLID K;
- Repair of stone steps, replacement of extremely damaged steps;
- Restoration of granite steps;
- Conservation of staircase with the products ECO IMPREGNIR K and ECO IMPREGNIR MK.
